Blackwood

When choosing something made from Blackwood, there is a lot to choose from.

Blackwood is a lovely perfect timber which has a great variety of colours. These range from light golden brown to deep brown and sometimes with a deep reddish tinge. It occasionally shows black streaks also.

Blackwood is beautiful and produces items of outstanding quality.

The grain of blackwood, which can be straight or wavy adds extra features. Sometimes the grain takes on an almost 3D depth and shimmer.

Blackwood is easily worked, very stable and long lasting. It is one of the best timbers to sand, but the dust is fine and a dust mask must be worn at all times when working with it in it's raw state.
